The Lake District: A Tour of Windermere & Ambleside

For my first time in the Lake District, I'd say it was a rather tame trip in terms of hiking around Windermere and Ambleside but a delight for landscape photography. But even then some of the landscape really left me breathless. A simple, compelling beauty, sometimes more sophisticated.

I should say I've always wanted to go up North and have a fascination for this type of landscape, even though it was my first time experiencing it first hand. And I was not disappointed !

EDIT: The small video experiment that came out of this trip is now ready too! Watch it below:

Swans joining the party in Bowness. These are some well-fed birds!

Sailing boats on the lake

The only road on that side of the lake

Lots of fallen trees following a storm. This big one ended up diving into the lake - a gloomy yet cool atmosphere.

... Pretending like my hands don't have giant blisters all over them !

Nice little fellow who came to give us some company on the trip back
