Release the Hound! A Photo-Shoot in Normandy
Taking advantage of a trip in Normandy with my favourite French Bloodhound to run more tests with the VSCO photo editing presets. All images were edited on the fly on my mobile and then sent via email in full size.
Bloodhound or Lovehound?
Making good use of the traditional Normandy house to bring out those regal traits of my favourite French Bloodhount, a.k.a. Bruno St Hubert.
P(h)ounds of love
Ok enough cheap hound puns. She is an amazing natural poser, I’m no big fan people getting their dogs to pose the exact same way by wiggling a treat in the air. Same photo over and over again.
The amazing things with the French Bloodhounds is that they aren't really hyper, very happy to sit or sleep and do nothing. But they are also blessed with seemingly boundless energy and actually enjoy mental and physical stimulation quite a lot!
The lower part of Normandy features lovely valleys and great food. Walk a few hours, eat, repeat.
A nose on four legs
Hounds are scent dogs. Best to keep them on a lead or they really just go wherever their nose takes them! In this case at least it took us to lovely paths in the region.
There are clear links between the Normans (i.e. Northmen) and the English heritage, and it's most obvious in the architecture in Normandy.
The autumn colours were simply splendid. I regret I didn't have my camera with me more often.
Traditional washing place
Dating back from, say, ... before the invention of the washing machine! Women would gather there and wash they laundry together. Or so I'm told.
The way back
Captured our attention just as much as the first time we saw it. I can't recommend Normandy enough. Weather may not always be perfect but it's far better than expected.
